Justin Dunne launched Independent Property Brokers after a 14 year career spanning all key areas of the real estate profession.

A licensed estate agent, Justin has extensive experience with private sales and auctions, residential, investment and commercial property, and has previously worked with two buyers’ advocacy firms.

He launched Independent Property Brokers because he became tired of the “hype and dishonesty” associated with many real estate agents, and made headlines when he challenged an auctioneer who was accepting dummy bids (see box).

“Integrity is very important to me,” Justin says. “I don’t use pressure tactics, I’m absolutely transparent about my fees and I give people space and time to decide if they want to use my services.

“I limit the number of clients I take on, to ensure I can give ample time to finding them the right property.”

Justin has been involved in the buying and selling of many hundreds of homes, investment properties and commercial buildings. Why not read other clients’ testimonials, then call him to arrange an obligation-free discussion.

Justin Dunne

In 2001, Justin Dunne became a catalyst in having dummy bidders outlawed in Victoria when he challenged an auctioneer who was pulling bids out of the air. Justin refused to bid on behalf of his client while dummy bids were being accepted and, when the house was passed in, tried unsuccessfully to negotiate with the auctioneer.

The auctioneer then attempted to sue Justin, taking him to court for alleged defamation. But the magistrate found that the auctioneer was “indulging in a deceitful, misleading and fraudulent stratagem to boost bids". The magistrate described dummy bidding as "misleading, evil and deceptive", and dismissed the case.
